Double World Champion and
Paralympic Bronze Medalist
By becoming Visually Impaired World Champion in March 2010, Ben was Britain’s first World Champion in 12 years following in the footsteps of his good friend and mentor Simon Jackson.
Ben added a Paralympic bronze medal to his trophy cabinet on home soil at the London 2012 Paralympic Games, in impressive style bravely overcoming the odds following rupturing two ligaments just 7 weeks before competing!

Paralympian Ben Quilter boasts an impressive Judo career, with over 15 years’ international competition experience with 8 World and European medals, under his belt so far. Ben proudly represented Paralympics GB in Beijing 2008 finishing 5th and in London 2012 where he won bronze.
Ben now is an ambassador for a number of charities and organizations and is a well known name in the World of motivational speaking. Attending a number of schools, colleges, charitable organizations, businesses and sports clubs telling his life story, of how he came to become visually impaired, his journey through Judo, the hurdles that he faced coping with deteriorating vision and his attitude towards overcoming adversity.
Ben is an ambassador of the charities Sightsavers, RNSB, 4Sight and Sense.
